"Please stop pretending there's nothing wrong" and it all goes to hell. Yes, I am indeed talking about last week's Glee episode, The Break-Up. And let's just say, they didn't get it wrong when they said it would change everything and that tissues would be needed. I don't go so far as saying I've cried because I sort of had an audience and I don't do crying in front of an audience, but had I been alone in my room, I would've undoubtedly burst into tears midway through the episode and only cried harder each time a new development happened and, in a more surprising turn of events than any of my feelings, I was only mad twice during this episode and only once was it with something written for the show and not one character's attitude. All in all, this has been the second episode in a row that has left me positively surprised with the way they've been handling things in Glee, specially compared to the last Season, and I'm actually back to feeling when it comes to Glee and rediscovering why I fell for the show in the first place, besides the songs.

So, I've been a bit off regarding the fandoms because of real life shit, mainly school, and I plan on using my time to catch up on them. And because I only have to watch two episodes, not two seasons or something like that, I will start with Glee. First order of business: Episode 3 of Season 4: Makeover. And it was actually somewhat decent.

I didn't have many high expectations regarding this episode. After I saw the 'Celebrity Skin' video I was like: 'this is going to be some really weird shit, with attempts at comedy and some cheap shots at Brittany and Blaine coming off as the high and mighty in the end, so high they were actually copying his over the top way of singing and dancing' but it wasn't anything like it at all! I was pleasantly surprised. As a small summary, I found myself rooting for a new couple, bored by the Will Schuester scenes (he could go and just leave everybody alone, you know? Bring Shelby back!), laughing at Sue, wondering why the fuck do the writers insist on portraying Brittany as really really unbelievably stupid and actually marveling at the portrayal of the relationships in the episode. At least the characters didn't sound as shallow to me as they had done on the Britney 2.0 episode and on lots of others before.

But,balancing it all out in the end, I think it's actually a good episode. I just wished we'd seen more of the seniors. I love Rachel and Kurt, I do (and Kurt totally fits into Vogue.com) but I'm missing Mercedes and Mike and, specially, Santana. Finn can be M.I.A. for, I don't know, the next forever.

I've got a bet running with V. on how many books I can read before the end of the year. She said I wouldn't hit 50, I disagreed, and since then (this was mid-February or something) I've been keeping tags on my books. I just found a new community out, 50bookchallenge, that is exactly for the recording of books and I've just started the process yesterday, after I finished reading The Posthumous Memoirs of Bras Cubas. I wrote it there with number one, along with an explanation on why and so on. There is a list with all the books I've read so far this year. The Posthumous Memoirs of Bras Cubas, as #21 or #1, has a review,

So I've kept on with Elfen Lied and watched another episode and let me just say, it's really awesome. Besides, the theme is really exquisite, it gives me the shivers, but a good kind. I don't know, it's Latin and kind of heavy, but it's nice.

I watched the first episode of Elfen Lied, an anime. That's all I knew about it, actually, besides the fact that it is drawn and the drawings talk in Japanese and we read the subtitles in english to understand them, before I watched it. That and it was bloody. The guys had doubted I'd be able to watch more than 10 minutes of it so I went and proved them wrong. It was sort of like this:

Besides watching the anime, in class we watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the movie version of the musical, and I have one word to describe it: bizarre. It's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein twisted into a sung orgy, basically. It's weird, and awesome.
